Once again, Calinan in third district of Davao City will be celebrating their 76th Araw ng Calinan. Part of the celebration is the Durian Festival, an event which showcases the abundance of the tropical fruits, especially the famous durian, mangosteen, pomelo, rambutan, marang and lanzones. Calinan is blessed with fertile soil that is why it is known to be the fruit basket of Davao City. 

The 2nd Durian Festival, organized by the Barangay of Calinan, will run up to March 10, 2013. Exhibitors are displaying durian varieties like arancillo, cob, puyat, native and montong. The holding of the festival is to highlight durian, being one of major agricultural products of the barangay.

The festival is a 10-day celebration from March 1 to 10, 2013. It is located along the highway of Calinan, before reaching Jollibee.

How to get there?

If you are from Downtown area (Davao City), you can ride a Jeepney/L300 Van/Annil bus en route to Calinan, just prepare around 40 pesos/person as a fare.
