The historic marker will serve as a sign and inspiration that once in the lives of Davaoenos, the city hall has been part of olden times.

The local government building was built as a municipal hall by the American government in 1926 eleven years before the place was declared as a chartered city by then President Manuel L. Quezon in 1937.
