Davao City received an award for its Project 911 from the League of Cities in the Philippines in 2003, as one of the Top 25 Best Practices in the Philippines. The City is one of only three areas in the world, after the United States and Canada, to have the Integrated Emergency Response System 911.

This year, the City Government of Davao has acquired a brand new state-of-the-art bus ambulance. It’s the first of its kind in the country and can hold 15 patients at a time. The bus ambulance can respond more efficiently to rescue operations since it is equipped with almost all fundamental medical facilities found in a hospital.

The bus is equipped with top-of-the-line equipment which has 15 beds, oxygen tanks, hooks for dextrose bottles, and a storage for emergency equipment for rescue operations, will be manned by medical professionals like nurses, first aid personnel and a doctor.

Other areas in Davao Region can also borrow the state-of-the-art bus ambulance if needed.
