The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) cited Davao City as one of the top performing local government units (LGUs) for 2010 based on the areas of good governance.

Anti-Smoking Ordinance
> Ordinance No. 0367-12, Series of 2012, known as The New Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance was passed by the City Council last year and approved by Mayor Sara Duterte early this year. The said ordinance repealed inconsistent provisions of original comprehensive anti-smoking ordinance.





Women Development Code of Davao City
> It shall be the policy of the Local Government of Davao City to uphold the rights of women and the belief in their worth and dignity as human beings. Women shall be recognized as full and equal partners of men in development and nation building and men shall share equally with all forms of productive and reproductive activities.



Liquor Ban
> The amendments to the 1994 liquor ban were approved on suspended rules and passed on second and third readings during the council’s session yesterday.

Councilor Bonifacio Militar, proponent of the amendments, said the new provisions mandate that establishments should stop selling liquor and operating from 1 a.m. – from the previous 2 a.m. – to 8 a.m.

The new amendments also lifted supposed exemptions earlier granted to tourism-related establishments, as provided by the 1994 ordinance that set the liquor ban from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.


Davao City Ecological Solid Waste Management Ordinance of 2009 City Ordinance No. 0371-10)

> Mandatory Segregation of Solid Waste - The segregation of waste at source by generators as household and all establishments is MANDATORY.





Revised Zoning Ordinance of 1996 of the City of Davao.
> This Zoning Ordinance is a Regulatory
measure which is enacted to identify the various land use districts or zones, designate the allowable uses
therein and prescribed physical and performance standards based on the approved general and urban land
use plans as reflected in the Comprehensive Development Plan of the City and adopted by the
Sangguniang Panlungsod as per Resolution No. 10105, Ordinance No. 3936 dated May 17, 1996 for the
City of Davao in order to achieve the development goals, objectives and policies as contained in the said plan.
