Unknown to many, Davao City holds the distinction of having the biggest Chinatown in the world, with a total land area of approximately 44 hectares covering at least four barangays. Recently, the Davao Chinatown Development Council unveiled a prototype street sign along Monteverde-Lizada street in Davao City. The council will build 60 street signs in the streets of Chinatown until middle of 2014.

The city's Chinatown is marked with four archways :

  1. Arch of Friendship which is situated along Magsaysay Avenue, near the Jones Circle.
  2. Arch of Unity is situated at the other end of Ramon Magsaysay Avenue towards the Magsaysay Park in Manuel Quezon Boulevard.
  3. Arch of Peace is situated at the corners of Jose P. Laurel, and and Sta. Ana Avenues near the Davao Central High School.
  4. Arch of Prosperity along Sta. Ana ave. Corner Alvarez st., Davao City.
