Two decades had passed since the first mall in Davao City was opened. It was named Victoria Plaza Commercial Center. Inaugurated and blessed on March 16, 1993, Dabawenyos celebrated its opening during the celebration of Araw ng Dabaw. The mall is located at J.P Laurel Ave., Bajada near the business District of Davao City.

The opening of the mall was a big investment in the city. Many dabawenyos inside and outside Davao City was glad that finally a mall was built. Some of Manila’s foodchains and other leading companies in retail industry had put their branch inside this mall. Victoria Plaza was famous for its indoor fountain where activities like concerts and special events were held. Whenever tourists found themselves in this mall, it will never be a complete experience without a snapshot in this spot.

Through the years, many big malls had emerged in Davao City. Despite this, Victoria Plaza maintained its lively business kicking by making their products affordable. This may be the reason why there are many people who choose to shop here. Aside from its affordability, the mall maintained to be clean and safe for customers. Finally, its completeness, ranging from basic to fashion needs, never faded that made people of Davao patronize the mall through time.
