One of the hottest topics in Davao City today is about the proposed cutting of trees along Dacudao Avenue. The trees were planted in the year 1992 and 1993. These trees are of different varieties namely, Mahogany, Molave, Gemilina and Narra.

The City Engineers Office and the Task Force drainage headed by  Yusuf Jimlani are planning to rehabilitate the drainage in the area in preparation for flood during rainy seasons. The rehabilitation is also for the repair of the riprap along the drainage since it started to break due to the tree roots which are slowly eating up the ground.

The proposed cutting of these trees gained various reactions and comments from different environmentalist and netizens of Davao City.

Because of this issue, public hearing was scheduled to tackle the proposed cutting of trees.

In your own point of view, are you in favour of cutting the trees along Dacudao Avenue?
