Good news for all commuters and drivers passing along Bankerohan because after six months of renovation, Governor Generoso Bridge II is set to open on November 17, 2014. The rehabilitation of the bridge was funded by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) worth 62-million.

The construction had caused discomfort to both drivers and commuters. For the past six months, many drivers are complaining because the heavy traffic congestion had decreased their daily income since one side of the bridge had to be closed to give way for the construction. Commuters on the other hand had to adjust their travelling time longer just to get to their destination earlier, or if lucky, on time.

According to DPWH XI, the bridge had to be repaired immediately because the main posts holding the bridge were already weak.

The long awaited re-opening of the one of the oldest bridge in the city is much anticipated by Dabawenyos. This re-opening is perfect especially this coming season when people are rushing for the holiday. Traffic flow is expected to be smoother now in Governor Generoso Bridge starting on Monday.
